Conjecture: For $n \geqslant 3$, there are no finite simple characteristic quotients of the free group $F_n$.

This is not true for $n = 2$ (W. Y. Chen, A. Lubotzky, P. H. Tiep, to appear in Comment. Math. Helvetici, 2025).
